TPS2372: 90W reference design

Part Number: TPS2372
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC2897A,

Hi Sir

1. Could you kindly help to provide 90W reference design schematic ? (include PWM power)

2. May I know how to get EA logo ? have any website can refer ?

  • Hello Kai,

    1. Unfortunately, we do not have PoE reference designs that go beyond 71W input, however the PD is capable of a maximum of 108W (57V/1.9A input), given that the PSE is able to supply it and not lose too much power along the cable. You can try pairing the PD with a power converter TI Design that suits your power level.

    2. See the attached presentation describing how to attain the EA logo.

    Best regards,

    Tom A.

  • Kai,

You can also go to www.ti.com/poe and scroll down just a little to find links to our 'logo'ed' designs (we have 8 so far...numbers 9 and 10 are coming soon!) and to watch a video training on this topic. Direct link to the video is training.ti.com/introduction-poe-certification-program.

Also, if this thread has answered your question(s), we would appreciate your feedback (to know you are satisfied) by clicking on the "resolved" button.

  • Hello Kai,

    Here is a 12V/9A (108W) active clamp forward design using UCC2897A: http://www.ti.com/tool/PMP5426

It was found in our reference design library: http://www.ti.com/reference-designs/index.html

This can be paired with a single PD if you can control the PSE voltage to keep the input current from tripping the TPS2372 current limit. To get around this current limit, dual PDs can be used as shown in our newly released beyond .bt app note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva986/slva986.pdf
