TPS7A19: TPS7A19 thermal shutdown issue

Part Number: TPS7A19

Hi,

Now I find some issue about TPS7A19 thermal shutdown then findout Vin = Vout voltage.

May I know if you also got the same situation?

Or you have other suggestion for our check again.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Eric

  • Hi Eric,

I am not sure that I am understanding your application. Could you provide a schematic of how you are using TPS7A19 as well as a multi-channel scopeshot of Vin, Vout, Ven, and Iout?

If triggered, thermal shutdown will cause the pass FET to turn off. When this occurs, no current will flow through the pass FET and Vout will be pulled to GND by the load not to Vin.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • Hi Ryan,

Below is schematic for your check again.

    12V output to DC Motor.

    I don't have any idea why Vout = Vin(24V) when U1 shutdown.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Eric

  • Hi Eric,

Thank you for the schematic. I agree that from what you are showing Vout should never be 24 V unless biased by an external supply. Could you share a multi-channel scopeshot of Vin, Vout, and Iout? This will help me better understand the relationship between the rails.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • Hi Eric,

Since it has been a couple weeks without a reply, I assume that this thread is resolved. If this is not correct, please feel free to post again.
