TPS54200: TPS54200

Part Number: TPS54200

Hi Team,

We are using the TPS54200 LED Driver IC in our project in analog dimming mode to handle the LED Brightness.We have selected below Inductor value based upon inductor selection formula mentioned in datasheet for two requirements.

Requirement 1

LED Current: 30mA

Vout: 3V

Vin:5.25V

K:0.34

Fs=600KHz

Selected Inductor value=200uH ;Isat (A)=100mA;Irms=170mA

Query 1: Above inductor value is satisfied to drive LED Current =30mA (High Brightness)

Query 2: Is it require to consider the inductor value during the low LED Current value means in low brightness mode.

Requirement 2

LED Current: 30mA

Vout: 9V

Vin:15.75V

K:0.4

Fs=600KHz

Selected Inductor value=560uH;Isat (A)=130mA;Irms=140mA

Query 3: Above inductor value is satisfied to drive LED Current =30mA (High Brightness)

Your input really help us to design the circuit so please provide the inputs ASAP.

Thanks

  • Hi,
    For requirement 1: 200uH is ok to drive output 30mA , it should be ok for lower current but I suggest you to apply for an EVM to have a test;
    For requirement 2: 560uH is ok for 30mA, but I think 470uH is ok for 30mA.
    Actually we have not tested with 30mA application, I highly recommend to apply an EVM form www.ti.com to verify this application. Thanks.
