Hello to Ti support team ,

I have problem with current calibration of some part of PCB with bq 40z50-r1 . I have 1mohm shunt resistor and after SW current calibration with battery management studio , it set offset of +- 20,25mA . The same reaction is when operating with HPA-495 TI callibration station . I tried with 1.3.54.1 SW and with 1.3.52 SW the same reaction .

1. The only way i found is set calibration current to proper value is manually set CC gain an Capacity GAIN to proper shunt value : 0.950-0.970 .

2. I noticed that the same problem already discussed with bq40z50 on .

Please explain why this fault current calibration occur , and how solve this problem ?

Hi Alexander,
Most likely you are seeing a large gain error in the current because you are trying to calibrate at 0 current.
Using bqStudio, you will have to use a load or source meter to apply 2000mA of current across the sense resistor, measure the exact current flowing through the sense resistor and then use this value in the "Applied current" box for calibration.
If the applied current is 0, then the calibration will not really work.

I calibrate on 2A load and there is an offset i see .
