LM5060: Increase gate sourcing current

Part Number: LM5060

Is there a way to increase the gate sourcing current of 24uA?

Is it sensible to drive an additional current (250uA) permanently into the gate to ensure faster switching? In off state this additional current will be handled by the LM5060 which is capable to sink 2.2mA and keeps the gate voltage low.  Is the LM5060 able to permanently handle this additional current? A broken LM5060 will result into a gate current and into FET activation.

  • Hi Robin,

    Thanks for reaching out!
I will look at the possible options and get back to you early next week. Can you elaborate on your last sentence.. what do you mean by "A broken LM5060 will result into a gate current and into FET activation."

    Best Regards,
    Rakesh
  • Hi Robin,

Can you please let us know the need for higher gate drive current.? What is the end equipment and use case?
We don't have a working solution to increase charging current externally.
