BQ40Z50-R1: 400kHz mode

Does BQ40Z50-R1 support 400kHz mode? I set XL(bit 3) in SBS configuration to 1, but failed to communicate with it at 400kHz. Did I miss anything else?

Did you reset or POR the part after you set the bit? Once you do that it will be active.

Hi Batt. Thank you for your reply. I reset the gas gauge and then the communication was totally lost. I used EV2300 and bqEVSW. Did BQ40Z50-R1 really support 400kHz fast mode? Or EV2300 does not support 400kHz SMBus?

The bq40z50-R1 does support 400kHz. It's the ev2300 that is limiting you. Your comms are supposed to be with your own interface and MCU if you want to use 400kHz.
