BQ24170: Can I charge 3.7V and 7.4v battery?

Dear Team,

I have a charger requirement where if I put 3.7V battery it should charge that battery without any damage and similarly when i put 7.4V battery even that battery should be charged without any damage to the battery.

Please suggest whether the BQ24170 will satisfy my requirement?

Or is there any other charger IC which does this effectivly ,please suggest.

    Please refer to the Device Comparison Table on the BQ2417x datasheet Page 3. BQ24170 charges the battery with fixed 4.2V/cell. BQ24172 provides adjustable battery voltage. The battery voltage setting is given by equation (1) on the datasheet page 15. You need to change the battery setting for different battery voltage.
