Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , TPS54240
Hello Team,
Could you help us please with our customer's question:
The customer has BQ24070 in new design of automotive GPS Tracker.
After their Tracker is turned on in the presence of a battery(which BQ24070 tries to charge), a loud squeak appears. Sound like a mosquito flying.
They found out that if the capacitor between BAT and ISET1 removed, the squeak disappears. It also disappears when the battery is pulled out of the device.
In the datasheet there are 2 references to this capacitor:
1) 0.22-μF capacitor connected between BAT and ISET1 is recommended to improve operation at low charge currents.
2) In description of BQ24070EVM: C7 is not installed. May be needed for programmed charging currents less than 0.3A.
In this case their needed charge current is 0.16 A. Which is lower than 0.3A. So they should use this capacitor.
How to solve problem with loud squeak?
BR,
