LM3410: Suggestion for alternate device

Part Number: LM3410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61165, TPS61169

I am currently using LM3410XSD (WSON | 6pin) to drive the backlight of a display on a controller. Unfortunately, the display is changing to one that requires 26V nominally at 60mA. The LM3410 max output voltage is 24V.  Is there a footprint-compatible LED driver that would work in place of LM3410 so that I do not have to change the PCB?  The requirements are as follows:

  • Similar footprint as LM3410XSD
  • Input voltage: 3.3V
  • Output voltage: 30V max
  • Current: 60mA max

It looks like TPS61165 is the closest match, but it seems that this device can't support 30V out with 3.3V in--is that true? If so, are there any other options to consider?

Thanks,

Brian Angiel

  • Hi Brian,
TPS61165 can actually support with 3.3V input voltage and 30V output voltage, 60mA. But the package is not compatible with LM3410. I have checked all one channel LED driver, TPS61169 is very similar with LM3410, both have 5 pins , but TPS61169 is alttle smaller than LM3410.
