TPS24751: Max Tolerance Calculation

Hello,

On page 28 of data sheet, it say “ … can tolerance 12V and 10A for approximately 1ms…”

As my understanding, when 10A can pass TPS24751, the VDS should be very small, might be only a couple of hundreds mV. Why the data sheet says 12V and SOA calculation is based on 12V ?

    Hi Louie,

    VDS will be small in steady-state condition. The FET will be subjected to stress during transition from ON-OFF or OFF-ON or fault breaking, where FET SOA curves determine how much power it can handle for a particular duration.
