UCC28911: How to monitor IPK pin of UCC28911?

Part Number: UCC28911
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28910

Hi,

I'm still trouble shooting what causes output voltage drop shortly and turns back during the operation of my board following UCC28911 datasheet section 9.3.7 Fault Protection to check, the Primary Over-current and thermal shutdown faults both mention IPK pin, but when I use my probe to touch that pin to monitor, it's unstable to be monitored, and sometimes it invokes the secondary output voltage drop completely. What is the correct way to monitor IPK pin? Thank you.

  • Can you show exactly how you probe the IPK on your board? Also, can you please check your bench setup grounding for oscilloscope, voltage source etc?

I think we need to eliminate the grounding issues first, as it is ok to measure IPK on UCC28910/11 EVM and you can check in its user's guide.
