Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51051B, BQ51052B,
I try to use the documents
bq51050BEVM-764, Integrated Wireless Power Li-Ion Charger Receiver SLUUA25C–October 2012–Revised June 2013.
together with
bq51050B, bq51051B, bq51052B
SLUSB42F –JULY 2012–REVISED JUNE 2017
as a guide to my development.
First I try the EVM board as suggested with my QI Complient Wireless Charger and It is charging with 200mA @ 3.8V It is fine. The green LED is lighting up on the EVM board.
I would like to use
WE-WPCC Wireless Power Transfer Receiver Coil 760308101219 (digikey 732-9675-ND)
I measure the free inductance with 10kHz it is 11.64uH
I measure the inductance close to a QI Complient Wireless Charger with 10kHz it is 12.57uH
Based on this I calculate
R=0.6;
Ls_freespace=11.64*10^-6
Ls_inposition=12.57*10^-6
C1=1/(2*pi*10^5)^2/Ls_inposition
C2=1/((10^6*2*pi)^2*Ls_freespace-1/C1)
Q=2*pi*10^6*Ls_freespace/R
C1 =
2.015138895034562e-07
C2 =
2.199898900548400e-09
Q =
1.218937949592840e+02
I Select C1 (Cs) 2x100nF (digikey 490-9654-1-ND) mounted on C1 and C3 posistion in TI EVM card
I Select C2 (Cd) 2x1nFx220pF (digikey 445-5079-1-ND) (220pF unknown source) mounted on C4 and C5 posistion in TI EVM card
I also replace the TI supplied coil with WE-WPCC Wireless Power Transfer Receiver Coil 760308101219 (digikey 732-9675-ND)
placing it on the QI Complient Wireless Charger. But it is not starting to charge ? No green lighting LED
The charger is signaling the same way as If I put a coin on the charger
Have I missed something?
