WEBENCH® Tools/LM3478: LM3478 SEPIC design in Webench Rramp, Cramp not specified

Part Number: LM3478

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

LM3478_SEPIC.pdfOne of my customers ran an LM3478 SEPIC design on Webench and noticed some oddities.

1st Oddity: Cram and Rramp are not specified.

2nd oddity: Rbp (hanging off of the VIN node) is not connected at one end. I believe it should be connected to the power source.

Thought you might like to know.

  • Hi Mark,

I don't know why it is labled Cramp and Rramp. They are RC filter for the current sense and the names are kind of misleading. Anyway, they are usually 1k/100pF, or 100 Ohm/ 1000pF.

Regarding Rbp, yes it should connect to the input rail. This is surely the problem when webench export the design.

Anyway, I will notify the webench group.

    Thanks,
    Youhao
