Hello,
I am working on a 5V; 10A SMPS using the LM5141-Q1 Buck Controller.
The Voltage input range goes from 8 to 19V.
So far, I have tested it with a 18V voltage input.
After some first adaptations, I am now able to get about 4.7V ; 3A.
I will be working on increasing the current output later.
Right now, my main concern is that, without any load, the converter consumes several hundred mA and of course heats quite a bit.
After having checked the voltages applied to both MOSFET gates, I noticed some ringing (picture below). I am assuming this could explain the problem. I followed partially the demo board schematics and at least put the 10 Ohms gate resistors. I also tried to add a 33pF capacitor in parallel (I haven't tried the RC LPF proposed yet) with the sens resistor. This modifications did not give the expected results.
I am still thinking of a few more things to try, however, I would be really grateful for some extra useful tips.
Thanks!
Kind Regards
Nicolas
