Hi Team,

In LM2576 datasheet, we can find power dissipation equation as following.

"Total power dissipated by the LM2576 can be estimated in Equation 10:

PD = (VIN)(IQ) + (VO/VIN)(ILOAD)(VSAT)"

My customer is asking for LM2676's power dissipation equation, is it same as LM2576's?

Hi,

I think it might be different because if you see the block diagram the LM2676 uses a FET instead of a transistor.
I would use a webench to see how much power dissipation on the LM2676 given your current specifications

Hi Vincent,

For the meantime we do not have a plan to update the datasheet for power dissipation.
We currently have webench to estimate the efficiency for your given conditions.
