ISO5452: Why it's classified as reinforced isolation with only 8kV Visom?

Hi,

In isolation training below, it's said that Visom should be at least 10kV for a device to be classified as reinforced isolation, is it true?

Hi Howard,

The testing voltage of surge test for ISO5452 is at 1.6*8kV which is 12.8kV. The margin factor of 1.6 is required by VDE standard.
