BQ40Z50: Update firmware in the field

Hi,

In the "bq40z50-R2 v2.08 to v2.11 Change List", it is mentioned some issues with version v2.08 that make this version unusable in our products.

Can you advise on how to update the firmware of BQ40Z50 to v2.11? We are looking for a way to update from our embedded firmware but I couldn't find any documentation explaining how we could do it. Updating from bqStudio is extremely inconvenient in production !

Hi Yann,
Unfortunately only bqStudio or using bqProduction ( www.ti.com/.../BQPRODUCTION ) along with the advanced bqMTester ( www.ti.com/.../ADVANCED-BQMTESTER ) are the recommended srec programming tools available from TI.

2 follow up questions:
1) Do you know a timeline for Texas to deliver bq40z50 pre-programmed with v2.11?
2) Is there non-recommended way for srec programming? ... Asking for a friend...

About 1), we are not planning on delivering bq40z50 with the 2.11 FW pre-programmed.
