Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400, BQ28Z610, BQ78Z100
Hi,
I have been encountering an issue with conducting the learning cycle for a lithium ion battery using the Battery Pack Manager Evaluation Module. Using Battery Management Studio application to record the logs, it became apparent that the remaining charge capacity would suddenly drop to 0 without having a change in the voltage or any of the other parameters. Attached are two screenshots, one is the charge capacity drop in the final discharge, and another is the charge capacity drop in the initial discharge. Note that these two processes aren't of the same learning cycle. The initial discharge screenshots represents our latest iteration, and it was the most accurate. We managed to get the remaining charge capacity to not drop drastically, however the charge capacity would go to 0 at 6.9V when we are aiming for it to go to 0 at 6.8V.
Below is a list of the components used:
- INR18650-35E SAMSUNG SDI
- BQ28Z610EVM-532
- Texas Instruments EV2400
The learning cycle was conducted as follows:
- The bq28z610EVM-532 was directly connected to two INR18650-35E SAMSUNG SDI cells
- bq28z610EVM-532 was connected to the EV2400 interface board which was connected to the PC from the other end
- Battery management studio was launched and 2610_0_20_bq28z610 was selected from the list
- Fuel Gauge firmware was updated to latest version
- Chem ID selected was "2123 (3500mAh)"
- Attached is an excel file with the parameters entered in the Data Memory
- From the "How to Complete a Successful Learning Cycle for the bq28z610/bq78z100" the alternative method described in 4.2.1 procedure was implemented
The initial discharge was conducted several times, and this issue used to constantly occur. Please advice
Also, can someone explain how is the SOH calculated?
