BQ76930: I2C interruptions and reset options

Part Number: BQ76930

What’s the recommended way of ensuring our BQ76930 is in a ready state following MCU reset which interrupts I2C comms?

  • Hi Barrett,

Shutting down in the middle of an I2C transfer will be an issue for any I2C device. After the MCU is back up, it will need to send enough I2C clocks to complete the cycle. The bq76930 can only be reset by cycling the voltage (if an I2C command is not possible) and then a pulse to the TS1 pin would be needed to wake up the device.

    Best regards,
    Matt
