UCC2897A: UCC2897A PVDD and VDD

Dear Team,

What is the reason for PVDD and VDD need to use 0 ohm to connect?

Kevin

  • Hello Kevin,
Within the ic the low power analog section is used for control purposes and is powered from the VDD pin.
The higher power driver section has large dV/dt signals and this is powered from the PVDD pin.
This is just the way the bond wires are made to the silicon and need to be separate within the ic
These nodes need to be connected together within the circuit.
The advantage of using a zero Ohm jumper is that you can also potentially use this part to measure the control current and the driver current.

    Regards
    John
