LP5922: NRND but still available for x ?

Part Number: LP5922
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A92

Hi,

This part just went NRND minutes before I wanted to send it to our PCB manufacturer. I found out in the siliconexpert tool. But when the status is set on NRND, I see that the lifespan is still 10 years garantueed.

What is going to happen with this product? On Mouser it is displayed as a new product. Do I need replacement? And are there any pincompatible replacements? Please help ASAP since I need to get my print out

regards,

Pieter Modderkolk

  • Hi Pieter,

LP5922 is not recommended for new designs; however, we will continue to support existing designs.  The lifespan of the IC itself is not affected by this status change; however, the family of devices is still subject to our Product Change Notification and Obsolescence Policies.  For general information about TI's Product Change Notification or Obsolescence Policy, please see the link below:

We are recommending TPS7A92 as a replacement; however, this is not completely pin to pin compatible so some layout changes would need to occur.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
