TPS65094: TPS950942 F/W inquire

Part Number: TPS65094

Dear,

TPS650942 Could need IC Programming?

If need, PLease share to me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence.

  • Lawrence,

The TPS65094 has one time programmable (OTP) memory that is programmed in at the factory. The different variations like the TPS650942, TPS650941, etc. are all different OTPs. No programming is needed on the customer side to get the device running.

Voltage levels, sequencing and other settings can all be changed once the device is powered up, but after a power-on-reset it will load the program that was programmed into OTP memory at the factory.

    Thank you,
    Nick

  • Hi, Nick

Thank you, i saw TPS650942 EVM have reserved I2C, It's could be upgraded PMIC F/W ?

    If any, Please advise me.

    Thanks,

    Best regards,
    Lawrence.

  • Lawrence,

The I2C communication can be used to change settings such as voltage level, sequencing, etc. However this won't change the firmware on the device. All settings that are changed using I2C are stored in volatile memory that will be overwritten by the settings in OTP memory upon a power-on-reset.

If you are interested in changing the device settings I would look at sections 6.6 and 6.7 of the datasheet, which go over I2C communication, and the registers that control all of the device settings.

    Thanks,
    Nick
