Hi Bob,

thanks for your answer, IEC60950-1 is a standard for safety into information technology equipment, but my question was if TPS2561A is compliance with IEC 62680-1-1 that defines performance of USB Battery Charging device.

IEC 62680-1-1:2015(E) contains specifications that define limits as well as detection, control and reporting mechanisms to permit devices to draw current in excess of the USB 2.0 specification for charging and/or powering up from dedicated chargers, hosts, hubs and charging downstream ports. These mechanisms are backward compatible with USB 2.0 compliant hosts and peripherals.

I believe you can help me because I can not find these info into TI data-sheet.

We don't have IEC 62680 certification for TPS2561.

Anyway do you know if TI has IC's for USB interface similar to TPS2561, that is compliant with IEC 62680?

Sorry Roberto,

None part of our product line has IEC 62680 certification. Please try to look that for in other product line.

Actually, we don't have much requirement from customer for IEC 62680, they request more for CB-IEC 60950 certification and UL certification.

Hi Bob,
IEC 62680 is not a certification but it is a standard that contains the requirments for USB type A charger.
I believed that one expert of TI knew it, seen TI develops devices dedicated for USB.
Anyway I checked from myself the performance and TPS2561A should be ok.
