TPS25944A: Reliability in a short circuit / auto retry condition

Hello,

Need a second opinion on this:

The TPS25944A monitors overcurrent situations and shuts off and retries indefinitely. Is there any limitation from a failure point of view on how many retries the part can tolerate in a short scenario.

    Hi Don,

    Thanks for reaching out! Can you share where this device is targeted to use.

    After every thermal shutdown, the device waits till the junction temperature falls by 12C from max i.e., TJ < [T(TSD) – 12°C] and has retry delay of 128ms. This allows the device to cool OFF, which helps and keeps the device in maintaining lower average temperature. So, no change in device life is expected.
