TPS61220: TPS61220 doesn't work when the load current is 5mA.

Part Number: TPS61220
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61222

hello,

When I use the boost converter TPS61220 to get a 5.0V from 3.3V, the output voltage is below 5.0V even the current of the Load is 5mA.

According to the datasheet of TPS61220 OR TpS61222 (fixed voltage 5.0V output), the maximum current is about 50mA - 60mA.

The circuit we used is the same as the datasheet reference, as below.

When we use the TPS61220, R1= 1M, and R2=110K. The L is 4.7uH (recommended in the Datasheet). C2=10uF

So my problem is Why the output is below 5.0V, When the load current is 5mA, the output voltage is approximate 3.95V.

The same phenomenon  occurred when we use the TPS61222 fixed voltage version.

What's the problem, Thanks in advance for your help.

Best,

DUO
