BQ27220: Gauging Parameter Calculator

Part Number: BQ27220
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCEDV

I used the chip  bq27220 ,when update the zip.which return the follow infomation.

The following errors were reported by the calculation engine:
Accuracy Error: Deviation is so high that it is most likely due to anomaly in the data. Please check that data files have recomended format, units and test schedule

 1. the temperature of my  lowtemp_lowrate.csv file is change  from 11 Celsius to 5 Celsius, and  roomtemp file is change from 27 Celsius to 25 Celsius. Is it error.

 2. If my hightemp files and roomtemp file use the save file,Just use different name, which cedv gpc vale will  be affected.

 3. Our device has a  Super capacitor (4.2v 220mF), when I remove the battery, the bq27220's soc will drop down . for example my battery's SOC is  95% , but when I remove the battery ,and reinsert the bq27220 gauge's SOC become to   10%.  Is some method I dectect the battery's insert and do something    correct the SOC value.

 4. the gcp-report files: what's mean hightemp_highrate_GPC_FitData.txt .  Is only  OCV11.txt and GPC_CEDV.tx  should I set to the bq27220.

I'm sorry for my poor english!

thanks & best regards!

  • Hi Xing,

If you run your tests using the supercapacitor in parallel, you have to endeavor keep the super capacitor attached at all times

Pls follow the instructions in gpccedv tool carefully to avoid having the errors being reported.

if you still see failures, you will have to attach the files you submitted to the tool for further analysis.

    thanks

  • hi Onyx,

     my GPC-report have a  OCV11.txt

    the content is

    SOC, % OCV, mV
    0 3041
    10 3664
    20 3701
    30 3744
    40 3773
    50 3803
    60 3844
    70 3912
    80 3991
    90 4074
    100 4176

Should I set the cedv profile as follow.

    SOC, % DOV, mV
    100 3041
    90 3664
    80 3701
    70 3744
    60 3773
    50 3803
    40 3844
    30 3912
    20 3991
    10 4074
    0 4176

    thanks

  • No. The way the report was provided is how you ought to put in in. 0 is 3041, 100 is 4176

    thanks

  • hi Onyx ,

the cedv_profile set hasn't  option to set OCV.

only has the DOD option.as follow picture.

  • Dear Onyx,

my attend gpc file report Gauging Parameter error:

The following errors were reported by the calculation engine:
Accuracy Error: Deviation is so high that it is most likely due to anomaly in the data. Please check that data files have recomended format, units and test schedule

can you help me check the attachment file.

    1012b.zip

  • Hi Xing,

High level, DOD-=100-SOC. So if you have 100% DOD, that is 0% SOC. If you have 100% SOC , that is 0% DOD. So input your data accordingly.

I looked at your attachement, and you did not follow the instructions in the gpccedv user manual. You ought to have four columns which should be in this order, elapsed time, voltage, temperature, and current and the headings of the columns should be labeled. You have 5 colums. Pls carefully follow the instructions of gpc cedv and you will get correct results.

    thanks
    Onyx
