LMG1205: Design Considerations from LM5113

Part Number: LMG1205
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5113,

Hello,

I am working with our customer who has the LM5113 in their freshly released design.

With the latest NRND status, we are looking at the LMG1205 which is the recommend replacement.

The two devices seem nearly identical, besides some minuscule tweaks in the spec table for Iq and Prop Delay.

  1. If we were to drop-in replace the BGA package, are there any differences between LM5113 and LMG1205 that would prevent these chips from operating exactly the same on the board?
    1. Can things like dead time circuitry remain the same?

Thank you,
Ryan B.

  • Hi Ryan,

thanks for reaching out about this,

LMG1205 is fully pin-to-pin compatible with LM5113 (LM5113 has been NRND)

1205 has improved performance - featuring better input noise filtering, less high side start up time, as well as more reliable off-state gate-to-ground latch

Also when doing a datasheet diff, the rise time of the LMG1205 is the same as LM5113 rise time, however LMG1205 has 2ns longer on fall time

both 1205 and 5113 have independent inputs with external deadtime requirements..

for adjustable internal deadtime check out LMG1210

    Thanks,
