BQ20Z95 state of [FAS] flage after sending Seal Device command

Normal 0 21 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

After sending the Seal Device command (0x0020) The [FAS] flag doesn’t behave as described in the Datasheet SLUU264a S68.

According to the Datasheet the [SS] flag is set and the [FAS] flag is cleared after sending the Seal Device command.

We observe that both Flags are set after sending the Seal Device command.

Is this behavior correct or is the [FAS] usually cleared and we are observing an exceptional behavior with our BQ20Z95?

  • This is normal behavior. Both FAS and SS will set when the Seal Device command (0x0020) is sent. It looks like the technical reference is incorrect.

Sending the Unseal Key (0x60) to Manufacturer Access (0x00) will clear the SS flag.

Sending the Full Access Key (0x61) to Manufacturer Access (0x00) will clear the FAS flag.
