I am currently working on a project energy harvesting low level power from earth batteries and wondered if the BQ25505 would be the best part to use to boost the output levels?

Dean,

Could you provide your earth battery specification of voltage and current capability? How are you going to store the harvested energy? I have very limited knowledge and no experience with earth batteries.

Hi Eric,

I have tested my most basic prototype for over 72 hours in damp soil and have been getting a constant 0.8v and 0.5mA, but should be able to generate a higher current with my more advanced prototypes.

I am thinking of storing the harvested energy in super capacitors
