TPS22810: break mode when VIN is received over 20V

Dear all,

If you can indicate, could you teach break mode when VIN is received 20V over?

If over 20V is added, which brock will be broken first?

For example, will Nch output FET will be broken first? Is this drain-source short break or open break?

    Hi Yamamoto-san, 

    We can't guarantee which portion of the device will break first, but it will usually be the ESD cell due to stress or the internal pass FET due to Vds stress across the fet. 

    When the device fails, we can't guarentee if it fails open or short since it depends on the part that fails within the device.
