I am considering using TPS23751 in a PoE design but I need to analyze the DC-DC behaviour and transformer design.

What is the nearest functional equivalent DC-DC controller in WebBench? Thanks.

Unfortunately, we do not have a WEBENCH model that is functionally close to TPS23751, however I can recommend a known working reference design & provide test report data. What are your output requirements?

Thanks Tom,
My outputs are 5V, and +/-15V, so a bit unusual.
I have ordered the TPS23751EVM-104, so will experiment with a custom designed transformer.
One other Question: My loading will vary between about 11W and 17W, depending on the features in use.
Is there any problem drawing less than 13W from the PSE after classifying as a type2 PD?

Hi David,

The class that the PD shows the PSE is the max power the PSE will need to budget for the PD. As long as the power consumption does not go lower that the maintain power signature threshold (see section 7.4.1.6 of the TPS23751 datasheet), the PSE will stay connected & the max class power should be available.
