My customer has question.

Can I change the content of EPROM for LP8556?

The customer saves the contents once set and wants to maintain the setting contents even when VDD = 0.

Customer have a question with "LP 8556 - E 05 Instructions for Burning EPROM".

Although it is described as "P3 4.Briefly apply 6V to the VLDO pin (~100 ms to 1s)", is it necessary to apply 6 V from the outside to the VLDO?
If it is assumed to be applied, will the IC be damaged if it is applied for 1 s or more?

Hi T Kishi,
yes, you need to apply a 6V from outside to "VLDO"pin. This is a time sequence for programming. I'm not sure whether longer time may demage the device. But I suggest you to follow this guide. Thanks.

What is the accuracy of 6V?
Since MAX of absolute maximum rating voltage is 6V of LP8556, it is uncertain whether it will lead to device destruction.

I'm sorry I don't know why need 6V to "VLDO" pin, But I guess it should be less than 6V inorder not to demage device.

Hi Sean

Customers are worried that Device will follow damage by applying Absolute maximum ratings.
However, in the "LP8556-E05_EPROM_Burn_Instructions_19APR2012", it is clearly stated that the maximum rating should be applied.
Is it OK even if it is 6 V or less?

Hi T Kishi,
To be honest, I have nver try to use this method to re-write EEPROM of LP8556. This guide was provided by our designer. It should be ok. Don't worry about that. You can let customer have try and if you find something wrong, please let me know.
