UCD9090: Resequence with AUX supply

Part Number: UCD9090

If I am powering the UCD9090 with a 3.3V aux supply that is always on, how do I get all the power rails to come back on after the main power has cycled. What I am seeing right now is 12V is the main power used to drive all the power supplies and when that gets shut down all the supplies are turned off, but when 12V turns back on, the supplies don't turn back on.

  • You can implement this via enabling the UV fault response of 12V rail(be sure to enable the re-sequencing option), and set the rest rails as fault shutdown salves of 12V rail. So When UCD9090 detects  UV event of 12V rail, it will shutdown the rest rails and after all rails are below power_good_off threshold, it will try to bring all rails back. You can set the re-sequencing to be unlimited so that device will continue trying to bring device back on.

    please refer section 4.7 - 4.12 of http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua815a/slua815a.pdf

  • I had looked at trying to set restart continuously on the UV fault response, but only "Do not restart" and "Restart up to X Times" is available. The restart continuously option is grayed out. This option stays grayed out whether the re-sequencing option is checked or not.

  • It is resequencing instead of retry(restart).

The document I referred in the previous posts descriptions about the difference between retry and resequencing
