TPS65023: Low_Bat Comparator freely usable?

Hi there,

am I reading the '65023 datasheet right that the LOW_BAT comparator is quasi a stand alone device, powered by  the Vmax switch and simply comparing the LOWBAT_SNS pin to an internal 1V reference (powered by what?), resulting in the LOWBATn signal.

IOW: am I free to use this comparator to survey what ever (switcher-)output voltage of the chip?
Or is there some connection to the control logic in the '65023  that could provoke unplanned side effects when the comparator triggers?

Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

You posted the question on the wrong forum. I guess you need to post this on - http://e2e.ti.com/forums/100.aspx

This forum is specific to TPS659xx devices (companions to OMAP2/3).

    Regards,

    Gandhar.

  • Oops - seems I read "Technical discussion about power analog companion devices for the OMAP™ Applications Processor & TPS659xx family ICs" the wrong way. [:|]
Maybe you should delete the "and" and emphasize the 659xx a little more. [;)]

Thanks for the hint. Let's see if I get annother 'slap' for posting about an IC with switchers in a linear regulator forum... [:D]

    Stefan

    Edit / Update:
LOL! My question has been moved from the "linear regulators" to the "isolated controllers" forum. I didn't know that the TPS65032 houses such one!

Am I the first one to use this chip?? Any alternatives?
