BQ2947: BQ2947 with transistor instead of triggered fuse

Part Number: BQ2947

Hello,

Do you advice and tips regarding the use of P-Mosfet instead of triggered fuse (SFH-xxx) with BQ2947? This kind of fuse is not easily available and we have some false triggering when connecting the cells together to form the battery pack.

Best regards

  • Hi Jean,
The OUT pin is specified and it would be possible to make a circuit to control a P-ch FET, the challenge is the current for biasing the gate which will be on during normal conditions. We do not have a reference schematic for this but expect you can do it. Note the CMOS active high versions drive high to a limited voltage. The active low open drain version would allow the OUT pin to be pulled high during normal conditions.
