Hi,
Currently i am using LM3410XQMF/NOPB regulator for LCD backlight driver
This regulator has a DIM pin for which we have connected PWM signal to control the brightness of the LCD.In the datasheet paragraph 7.3.2 Dim Pin and Shutdown Mode its specified that the PWM frequencies from 1Hz to 25KHz can be used.
Now my concern is that whether can I provide higher PWM frequency(for example 50KHz) to the DIM pin?
Will there be any adverse effects on the IC or on the LCD if I increase the PWM frequency?
Please suggest
Regards,
Karthik
Hello Karthik,
TI only recommends using the LM3410 in it's recommended range. It doesn't mean it will not work outside of that range with or without adverse effects. Higher dimming frequency means less resolution and more interaction with the switching frequency. Ti cannot make recommendations outside of the datasheet specifications.
Best Regards,
