TPS23754: Reference Design w/ Isolated 5V/2.4A

I'm not sure the TPS23754 part is the best choice but I'm looking for something that

  • supports Type 1 and Type 2 is a bonus
  • support for external input power (from a wall wart) when PoE isn't available
  • 5V/2.4A isolated output to feed the TPS2543/7 for fast USB charging
  • competes with price and features of the Si3404-A

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    As the Si3404-A is limited to Type 1 operation, I suggest you look at Type 1 limited solutions from Texas Instruments in order to be price competitive. The most price competitive solution, available in mass production today, is the TPS23753A. The TPS23755 is sampling now and is more feature set competitive with Si3404-A, however, it is not yet released to full production so timing of the project is important to consider. If wanting to discuss the expected RTM of the TPS23755, we could do so over private E2E messaging. I will send you a friend connection request now just in case you would like to discuss this further.

    The TPS23754 (and TPS23751 - only has a single driver and is offered at a lower price) are fine choices if truly wanting to qualify a device which could also be utilized in a Type 2 design.
