BQ2970: Formula for adjusting the charge and discharge current by changing Resistors

Hello,

I wanted to confirm if I could change the charge and discharge current by changing the following resistors (R14 and R17). 

Where can i find the formulas for this?

I need 1.5A in and 1.5A out(MAX).

    This device does not control the charge and discharge current. It only protects against safety conditions and it does so with the help of the rdson of the charge and discharge fet. pls review the data sheet of the device for choosing the fets.
