The figures and equations in datasheet 8.3.5 do not match.

How should eq(2) be change?

    Hi Mike,

    Thank you for pointing this out.  Equation 2 in section 8.3.5 should be the standard Vout equation for LM317:

    It also looks like Equation 3 should be (R1 + R2)min = Vo / Ireg(min).

    We will correct these equations on the next datasheet revision.
