BQ35100: Chemical ID for ER26500 battery for BQ35100 chip

Part Number: BQ35100

Hi,

I want to set configure the BQ35100 chip for my battery ER26500. However, in TI Battery Management Studio 1.3.54.1, I couldn't find the reference of my battery (ER26500) or the type LiSoCI2.

In BQ35100 datasheet, I read that the chip is compatible with LiSoCI2 battery:

So what chemical ID should I choose for my battery?

Cheers,

  • Hi Bitou
You can use the default chem id on the chip.
    thanks
    Onyx

  • Thanks for your reply.

So I don't need to change the chemical ID which is shipped by TI? [1]

During production, the chip will be configured by I2C in my case, I found some documentation in the Technical Reference so I need to:

    • Enter calibration mode with given I2C command and in ACC Mode and do:
      • 1. Perform Voltage Calibration.
        2. Perform Current Calibration.
        3. Perform Temperature Calibration.
    • Set the CHEM ID (leave it to default in my case)
    • Reset the Chip
    • Set "Operation Config A" to select Li-SOCI2 in GMSEL reg. But I didn't find how to write "Operation Config A" by I2C, I didn't find an I2C command ? [2]
    • Then follow End-Of-Service procedure mode to start measurement

So could you tell me more about [1] and [2] reference in my previous text please?

    Cheers,

  • Hi Bitou
