TPS1H100-Q1: Loss of Power Supply Protection

Part Number: TPS1H100-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2660

Hi team,

I have a question about Loss of Power Suply Protection.

There is a description of Loss of power supply protection in the data sheet, is this a problem unique to this device?

It occurs when the power supply is lost in the case of an inductive load, so I do not think that it is a device specific problem.

According to the data sheet, additional parts are required for GND network and MCU communication line.

For example, if e-fuse TPS2660, will this measure be unnecessary?

Our customer needs a switch with protection function to supply power from the ECU to the outside.

The power supply is 24 V and the load current is about 100 mA, so Automotive is not necessary.

Best regards,

  • Hello,

Is TPS1H100 used in this application or a different device? The network is necessary for any high side switch if driving inductive load in case of power supply losses. If the load is resistive or capacitive, the power supply losses is safe and the high side switch does not need external components for protection.

Please let me know what device is used and will direct the post to apps engineer assigned to the specific part.

In general, the power supply losses my not require the same prectection. It depends on the device.

    Regards

  • Hello,

I consider this issue is resolved and please open another thread if you still have question.

  • Hi Mahmoud-san,

I'm sorry for my late reply.

We think this issue is resolved.

TPS1H200 is a candidate for external power supply.

Although there are some inductance due to the wire harness, the load is resistance and capacitance component, so I think that there is no problem.
