Hi,

I am building 5V/2A power supply for GPS tracker for truck (12/24 V noisy input), it will feed a GPS module with ESP32-WROOM-32. Later also the GSM module will be added.

I get the PCB design on WEBENCH® POWER DESIGNER (TPS54360BQDDARQ1), but this design is 4-layered.

I can design my own 2-layer PCB in EasyEDA (I also plan to order parts&soldering there), but my question is - what heat dissipation requirements I must follow to make my design durable and reliable?

Hello Alexander,

Under “Edit PCB”, near the top of the screen, in WebTherm, you can delete the mid layers. I found that when I do this, the temperature difference between the device and cooler components on the board approximately doubles. In that same menu, you can also change the thickness of the front and back copper to match your intended design.

Unfortunately I can't find “Edit PCB” near the top of the screen - please see the enclosed screenshot.

I used classic Webench designer using Flash and i was able to simulate the design with 2 layer board. Here is the data at 60V input and 350KHz switchign frequency (5V @ 2A output. )
