Hi There,
What is the RTC Accuracy ? . Can the TPS65930 RTC support an accuracy of ± 14 seconds per month ?
Thanks & Regards
Rejo

Hi,
Have you checked out this document? http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/swca024
It's on the TPS65950 page but I think it should also apply to the 65930 as well. I'm more of a hardware guy so I've never played with any settings but I think there are registers you use to tweak the timing to match your individual PCB layout since capacitance variations are in the nature of hardware design. I assume with these you can get your accuracy to an acceptable level but one of the TI guys would have to tell you more about how tight it is.
Hi Rejo,
You can refer to the document pointed by Mike.
This document explains how 32K clk can be compensated and adjusted using TPS65930 registers. It is possible to adjust accuracy to 1/32768 seconds per hour. However, the external porocessor needs to calculate the value to be programmed in the TPS65930 registers. The value should be loaded in the COMP_REG in TPS65930.
In this case the external processor is OMAP. Can you find from OMAP support (may be Frangline) and ask how OMAP can manage this.

Hi there,
Thank you for the response, I however have one more question . Does the TPS65930 have a real time clock that is backed up by the battery connected to BKBAT? . I was able to understand from other post on this site , that there it does support Backed battery by BKBAT. and that TPS65930/20 data manual has an error. . However i would like to double check about this item
Hi there
I would like to Know if the power consumed by the TPS65930 in Backup mode (Only the RTC date is maintained with a couple of registers in the backup domain. No main source is connected) is limited to 7.2uW. This number is important to decide on the Backup power/Cap required for the design

Rejo
Hi,
Yes. The RTC is supported when Backup battery is used on BKBAT.

Hi there,
Can suggest the Power consumed by BKBAT during Battery backed up mode

Rejo
Hi,
Yes, the typcial value of power consumption in Backup state (VBKP = 3.2V and No Main Battery connected ) is 7.2uW.

Kartik
Hello,
Can someone please tell me the power consumption in Backup state for the TPS659-5-0? Is it the same as the TPS659-3-0?
Thanks,
