BQ27510-G3: Programming Thermistor Coefficients

Hello,

I was trying to find information on how to program different thermistor coefficients into the BQ27510 if the Semitec 103AT NTC thermistor is not used. I read in the Thermistor Selection Guide for Texas Instruments Advanced Fuel Gauge that some BQ27#### products are not programmable. Is the BQ27510-G3 one of these non-programmable fuel gauges? If so, what are the consequences of using a thermistor other than the Semitec 103AT NTC thermistor given as a recommended part? What external thermistors are acceptable for the BQ27510?

Hi Kyle,

I would recommend you use a 103AT thermistor to avoid the hassles of getting a different thermistor to work.

Here attached is the excel sheet used if you decide to use a different thermistor.

Thank you for providing the calculator in the event that a different thermistor is used, I was looking for something like that on the TI website but could not find it,

Hello Onyx,

The first instruction says to Insert Temperature and Resistance values into Columns A&B, which sheet am I supposed to do that on?

Hi Kyle

This is why we do not encourage customers to change that thermistor , You end up getting too confused with a ton of questions.

The first sheet has the instructions. You are using a host side gauge so you will use host side NTC analysis. Again i have to strongly recommend you stick with the recommended NTC
