LM5141: Duty cycle limitation and Max current

Part Number: LM5141

Hi,

1. can you provide max duty cycle of LM5141: Data sheet doesnt say but in website it say 99% and but in webench design it is limted to 85%. Can you provide exact information?

2. What is max current LM5141 can be controlled? In website says 20A. But webench design limited to 10A.

Please reply

Thanks

  • Hello Bibin,
For the LM5141 there is no defined maximum duty cycle, but instead the duty cycle limitation is controlled by the minimum off-time (100ns) and the configured switching frequency.
However in practice the controller will reduce the frequency as much as it needs to try and achieve regulation, hence 99% specified in the datasheet.

Also the LM5141 does not have a limit for the current it can control, that is limited by the inductor and FETs.

    Hope this helps,
