EMB1428Q: CS falling edge when bg_good is low

Hello

We are using a design with two EMB1428 and two EMB1499.

Some of our boards, previously working, suddenly exhibit the fault condition "CS falling edge when bg_good is low" at which point the board no longer can charge cells. Only replacing the EMB1428s fixes the problem.

Is it possible for fault "CS falling edge when bg_good is low" to indicate a broken IC? If so, are there any ideas as to what fault condition we should look for, that could cause this failure? Thank you.

Yes, we continue to see it. It is a systematic problem on all our PCBs. We are currently testing whether a missing diode and resistor will resolve this problem. See this other question we asked:
