LM4121: About output supply capability

Part Number: LM4121

Hi,

I am planning to create circuits using the LM4121 device.
Among them, I would like to ask you a question.

If the output of this device is short-circuited, there is a description in the electrical characteristics when a maximum of 30mA flows.
Does this maximum current value indicate the maximum capability the device can deliver?
Or is this device capable of supplying 30mA or more?

Best regards,

  • Hi Kaji,

The SC current of the LM4121 is between 6-30mA. What this means is that the LM4121 will source current until its EC table recommended specification of 5mA. After 5mA to its SC current, the output voltage will drop to 0V.
This device cannot handle 30mA. The maximum current it can source is 5mA.

What is the reason you are using the LM4121? Can you tell me more about your specifications and I can help you find a device or solution that can handle 30mA.
