How does one calculate the power dissipation for this device?

    Hello Ravi,

    During steady state operation, (when Output Current is in steady state) the power dissipated by TPS2660 can be calculated by below equation:

    PD = (VIN-VOUT) x IIN

    While during start up, the power dissipated is a function of inrush current and load on the TPS2660.

    Section 10.2.2.5.1 and 10.2.2.5.2 on Page 29 and Page 30 of the datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps2660.pdf ) illustrates power dissipated in start-up.
