BQ27320: golden file

Hi Team,

I understand SOC has some few error immediately after programming golden file then it improves by degrees with application usage of charge/discharge cycles.
If my customer wants to reduce SOC error from the beginning, how this is done specifically?
Should my customer do a few charge/discharge cycles then extracting the file as the "golden file"?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi Yaita,
Doing a few cycles will not help. The gauge learns and stores FCC and REM cap in RAM which are volatile memory. There will always be that initialization error depending on how accruate the 10 voltages that depicts each SOC in relation to the battery actual OCV. However once the units are used, ie charge and discharged, the accuracy of the DUT will become optimal.
    thanks
