LM25085: What's the maximum load current we can reach with this device?

Hi Team,

What's the maximum load current we can reach with this device?

The parametrics table shows 10 A but I since it could go higher with proper selection of external components (MOSFET, inductor, diode...etc).

Is my understanding correct?

Hi Roy,

The output current capability depends on the chosen FET and controller, so greater than 10A is possible.

Hi Roy,

If the controller has integrated MOSFET gate driver(s), then the source/sink capability of the driver(s) determines how quickly the MOSFET(s) are switched. In other words, high-current gate drivers are more suited to drive high Qg FETs to suppy high output currents, particularly at elevated switching frequencies.
